An interesting approach for the visualization of network structures is presented at this year's ACM SIGCOMM by computer scientists of the University of California, San Diego. Their graphs resemble kind of digital dandelions and is for experimenting with network structures and effects on them. Besides that, their graphics are very beautiful.
